This paper is devoted to the global solutions of the initial value problem for the following nonlinear Schrödinger equation: NEWLINE\[NEWLINE\begin{gathered} -iu_t+\Delta u= f(u),\\ u(0,x)= \varphi(x).\end{gathered}NEWLINE\]NEWLINE The author is mainly interested in nonlinear functions \(f\) which are not pure powers, that is not homogeneous in \(u: f(u)= a|u|^\alpha u+ b|u|^\gamma u\), where \(a,b\in\mathbb{C}\) are arbitrary, and \(0<\alpha<\gamma\).
