The authors consider the solution to some nonlinear partial integro-differential equations of Volterra type with convolution kernels. The kernels are weakly singular and the equations may be expressed as fractional partial differential equations. The equations generalise equations that arise in certain heat conduction problems with memory. In summary the paper gives results on existence and uniqueness of solutions of the equation and asymptotic behaviour as \(t \rightarrow \infty\). The authors provide a representation formula for the solution of the linear part of the equation and space-time estimates of the solutions using Mittag-Leffler functions. These enable results on solutions of the nonlinear problem to be derived.
