To every polynomial automorphism \(g\) of \(\mathbb{C}^2\) of Hénon type there are associated Julia sets \(J^+\), \(J^-\) and \(J\). Here, \(J^\pm\) is the locus where the sequence of iterates \((g^{\pm n})_{n\geq 1}\) is not equicontinuous and \(J= J^+\cap J^-\). It is known that \(J^\pm\) are closed and unbounded whereas \(J\) is compact. If \(g\) is a hyperbolic mapping (i.e., the set \(J\) is hyperbolic for \(g\)) then \(J^\pm\) is locally a topological product of a set \(X^\pm\) and a disk \(\mathbb{D}\). In the case of \(J^+\), the disk represents a stable manifold and the set \(X^+\) the intersection of an unstable manifold with the set \(J\). For \(J^-\) the situation is similar. The paper shows that this topological picture also holds on the level of Hausdorff dimension \(\dim H\), in the following sense: \(\dim H(J^\pm)= \dim H(X^\pm)+ 2\); \(\dim_H(J)= \dim_H(X^+)+ \dim_H (X^-)\). Moreover, the author shows that \(0< \dim_H(X^\pm)< 2\), so that \(2< \dim _H(J^\pm)< 4\). The second part of the paper studies the dependence of these Hausdorff dimensions on a parameter. More precisely, if the map \(g=g_a\) depends holomorphically on a parameter \(a\in X\), where \(X\) is a complex manifold and \(g_a\) is hyperbolic for all \(a\), then the author shows that \(a\mapsto\dim_H(J^\pm_a)\) and \(a\mapsto\dim_H(J_a)\) are plurisubharmonic. As an application of his results, the author constructs a Fatou-Bieberbach domain in \(\mathbb{C}^2\) whose boundary has Hausdorff dimension \(3+s\) for any \(s\in(0,1)\). This should be compared with the example by \textit{B. Stensönes} [Ann. Math. (2) 145, 365--377 (1997; Zbl 0883.32020)] of a smoothly bounded Fatou-Bieberbach domain (i.e., \(s= 0\)).
