The author obtains five theorems; No. 2 runs as follows. Let \(\alpha>0\) and \(q\), \(s\in(0;1)\) be given; then the functional equation \[ f (x+1)= {1-q^{x+1}\over 1-q^{x+s}} f(x),\quad x\in [0,+\infty), \] has precisely one strictly concave solution such that \(f(0)=\alpha\), namely \[ f(x)= {\alpha \Gamma_q(s) \Gamma_q(x+1) \over\Gamma_q (x+s)}. \] Theorem 1 is the \(\Gamma\)-counterpart, and Theorem 3 deals with the case \(q>1\). Moreover, the author derives (Theorems 4 and 5) two-sided inequalities involving ratios of the form \(\Gamma_q(y+1)/ \Gamma_q(y+s)\).
