From author's summary: We analyze the Roe's approximate method for solving Riemann problem in Lagrangian variables. It is shown that the use of exact solution, unlike Roe's method and acoustic approximation, leads to a numerical viscosity similar to von Neumann-Richtmyer quadratic viscosity. We also construct an algorithm for solving Riemann problem with arbitrary equation of state prescribed by two-dimensional tables with bilinear interpolation within table cells.
