The paper is devoted to the noncommutative spectral theorem that asserts the possibility to reduce a semisimple matrix algebra satisfying a polynomial identity to block diagonal form, where the maximal order of a diagonal block is determined by the identity. When this maximal order is 2, the algebra is said to be quasidiagonalizable. It is shown that the result on the canonical form of projectors is equivalent to the quasidiagonalizability of the corresponding matrix algebra.
