This article considers the method of portals for rendering complex scenes. The method uses the division of the scene into the set of convex polyhedrons (rooms), connected by the portals (the kind of ``holes'') through which the contens of one polyhedron can be seen from the other polyhedron. As a result all the sceen is described with the help a hierarchic structure (three), setting up the division of the scene into primary fragments. For each aggregated object of the tree the nonoriented graph is given carrying in itself the information about the order od connection of the fragments by means of a certain portal. The method ensures a high degree of flexibility of application, the possibility of the active utilization of scenes with variable geometry and heterogeneous structure.
