A Jacobi block matrix is studied when a perturbation is introduced. Orthonormal matrix polynomials are introduced on the real line. A relation between two truncated Jacobi matrices is deduced when the corresponding matrix measures are related by the addition of a Dirac delta matrix measure. An explicit form for the perturbed matrix coefficients in the three-term recurrence relation is found. Some examples are given.
