Continuing the work by \textit{S. Graf} in [Monatsh. Math. 120, 223-246 (1995; Zbl 0841.28011)] and \textit{M. Arbeiter} and \textit{N. Patzschke} in [Math. Nachr. 181, 5-42 (1996; Zbl 0873.28003)], the author proves that if \(A\) is a self-similar set satisfying the open set condition with \(U\), \(\mu\) is a self-similar measure on \(A\), and \(\nu\) is an ergodic shift-invariant measure on \(A\) such that \[ \int_A|\log(\sup\{r\geq 0\mid B(x,r)\subset U\})|d\nu(x)<\infty, \] then \(\nu\)-almost all points show the same local geometry with respect to \(\mu\). More precisely, at \(\nu\)-almost all points \(x\) the measure \(\mu\) admits a unique tangent measure distribution which is the same for all these points \(x\). In the paper the emphasis is given to a clear geometric approach. Applications of the main result are illustrated by a new method of visualization.
