The dynamics of the Navier-Stokes equations of a polytropic viscous ideal gas in bounded annular domains \[ G_n=\bigl\{x \in \mathbb{R}^n: 0<a<|x|<b <+\infty \bigr\}\text{ in }\mathbb{R}^n \] for \(n=2\) or \(n=3\) are considered. First, the problem for the spherically symmetric motion of such a gas in Eulerian coordinates is transferred to that in Lagrangian coordinates and results on the existence of maximal universal attractors are obtained. Then the authors go back to the Eulerian coordinates and draw the corresponding conclusions. One of the important features of this problem is that the metric spaces \(H^{(1)}\) and \(H^{(2)}\) they work with are two incomplete metric spaces. So two sequences of closed subspaces \(H^{(i)}_\delta \subset H^{(i)}\) \((i=1,2)\) are found, and the existence of two maximal universal attractors in \(H^{(1)}_\delta\) and \(H^{(2)}_\delta\) is proved.
