The authors discuss the Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation for a delayed predator-prey system of the form \[ \dot x(t) =rx(t) (1-\frac{x(t)}{K})-\frac{x(t)y(t)}{a+x^2(t)}, \qquad \dot y(t) =y(t) (\frac{\mu x(t-\tau)}{a+x^2(t-\tau)}-D). \] By using the normal form theory of retarded functional-differential equations due to Faria and Magalh\(\tilde a\)es, it is proved that the system possesses a Bogdanov-Takens singularity for any delay value \(\tau\). A versal unfolding of the model at the Bogdanov-Takens singularity is obtained. It is shown that the system can exhibit the Hopf bifurcation as the time delay passes through some critical values.
