The standard way to study asymptotic properties of asymptotically flat spacetimes \((M,g)\) is to rescale the metric \( g \rightarrow \tilde g = \Omega^2 g\) and add to \(M\) the boundary \(B\) of \((M, \tilde g)\). Usually \(B\) consists of two null surfaces \(I^+, I^-\) and a point \(i^0\) which is the vertex of \(I^+\) and \( I^-\) and which represents spacelike infinity. It is known that in general the point \(i^0\) is a singular point of the boundary , i.e. there is no smooth structure near \(i^0\). The author studies the structure of the boundary \(B\) near \(i^0\) for the Kerr spacetime. The standard Ashtekar and Hansen \(C^{1+}\)-structure at \(i^0 \) ensures sufficient regularity in spacelike direction, but shows very low regularity on \(I^+\) and \(I^-\). The author proposes a new construction of the boundary which has \(C^{>1}\)-structure in both null and spacelike directions at the point \(i^0\).
