A one-dimensional mean field model of superconducting vortices with a finite London penetration is studied, subject to flux pinning and nucleation of vorticity at inflow boundary sections. A weak solution is shown to exist and its long time behavior is studied. A discrete numerical model is derived, and it is shown that as the time step and mesh size tend to zero, so the discrete solution converges to the weak solution of the continuous model. The effects of flux pinning and the finite penetration depth are illustrated by numerical examples.
