The authors derive an exact solution of visco-capillary flow in an inclined channel. Under the assumption that the flow is steady and unidirectional, the shape and the velocity are obtained as exact solutions of Navier-Stokes equations. The velocity profile is defined by Poisson equation and by associated boundary conditions. The solution is given explicitly as an infinite series. It turns out that there is a structural change in velocity profile, the velocity overshoot, when the meniscus elevation exceeds a critical value. The obtained results, based on the exact equations, are in a good agreement with experimental results, in contrast to results based on linearized models.
