This note is devoted to the \(2D\) Riemann problem of simplified Euler equation of the form: \[ \begin{cases} u_t+(u^2)_x +(uv)_y=0,\;v_t+(uv)_x +(v^2)_y=0,\\ (u,v)|_{t=0} =\begin{cases}(u_-,v_-)& \text{if }D(x,y) <0,\\ (u_+,v_+) & \text{if }D(x,y)>0, \end{cases}\end{cases} \] where the initial discontinuity \(D(x,y)=0\) is a curve which separates the \((x,y)\)-plane into two infinite parts and \(D_x\) and \(D_y\) are continuous. Some new properties about two-dimensional rarefaction waves, shock waves and intermediate states of solutions are discussed.
