A hyperkähler manifold admits three anticommuting complex structures \(I,J,K\) and a metric \(g\) which is Kähler for \(I,J,K\). Examples are nilpotent adjoint orbits in a classical complex simple Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}_\mathbb{C}\). For such an orbit there exists a single function \(\rho\) which is a potential for all three structures \(I,J,K\) and \(g\). The authors compute such a hyper-Kähler potential explicitly for nilpotent orbits of cohomogeneity one and two. Here the cohomogeneity of an orbit \({\mathcal O}\) is defined to be the cohomogeneity of \({\mathcal O}\) under the action of the compact group \(G\) whose Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}\) is a compact real form of \({\mathfrak g}_\mathbb{C}\).
