The authors consider the reproducing kernel Hilbert space of functions analytic in the open unit ball of \({\mathbb C}^N\), with reproducing kernel \((1-\langle z,w\rangle)^{-1}\), where \(\langle z,w\rangle=\sum_{k=1}^Nz_kw_k^*\), with \(z,w\in {\mathbb C}^N\). They deal with the following problem. Given \(\xi_1,\ldots,\xi_n\in{\mathbb C}^p, \eta_1,\ldots,\eta_n\in{\mathbb C}^q\), and distinct \(a^{(1)},\ldots,a^{(n)}\in{\mathbb S}_N\) (the unit sphere of \({\mathbb C}^N\)) and positive numbers \(p_{11},\ldots,p_{nn}\), find necessary and sufficient conditions for a \({\mathbb C}^{p\times q}\)-valued Schur multiplier \(S\) to exist such that \(\lim_{\rho\to 1}\xi_k^*S(\rho A^{(k)})=\eta_k^*\), as well as another boundary condition depending on \(p_{kk}\), be satisfied. The authors solve this problem in two ways and introduce the notion of Brune factor in this context.
