The statistics of the flux of particles on the real line \(\mathbb R\) crossing the origin is investigated. The particles are uniformly distributed at first, but with a random initial velocity which is zero on the left side, and is either a white noise or a Brownian motion on the right side. It is shown that for white noise initial velocity the total mass of particles that cross the origin is a time-inhomogeneous Markov step process, while for Brownian initial velocities, it is a time-inhomogeneous Markov process that increases only by jumps. Moreover, the formulae of transition probabilities are given.
