Exact boundary controllability of electromagnetic fields in a general region (Q5956455)

The authors consider the controllability of Maxwell's equations in the following sense. The initial and final electric and magnetic fields are known and the variation of the electric current distribution over the intervening period is required. An operator theoretic formulation is set up and an expression is obtained giving the electromagnetic field at any time in terms of the current distribution and the initial field. Energy estimates are obtained and there is a discussion of the regularity of the system.
