Some orthogonal polynomials related to elliptic functions (Q5959033)

A slight modification in the generating relations involving elliptic functions for the class of polynomials \(\{G_n(x, a)\}\) studied earlier by the authors [Ill. J. Math. 42, No. 2, 294-312 (1998; Zbl 0914.33015)] leads them to introduce in this paper three new systems of orthogonal polynomials. Several interesting results associated with these systems of polynomials have been presented here which include recurrence relations, orthogonality properties, and the determinacy of Hamburger moment problem. The paper also incorporates a new exactly solvable birth and death process with quartic birth and death rates.
