The authors consider the equations governing one dimensional compressible barotropic flows, on the half line \(x > 0\). This paper is a continuation of a paper by Matsumura, where large time behaviors of the solutions were classified in terms of the boundary values. The problem is said to be ``inflow'' because the initial velocity is supposed to be positive. The study is made in Lagrangian coordinates, and boundary layer solutions are defined, corresponding to travelling waves. The aim of the paper is to study the stability of those boundary layer solutions, as well as superpositions. For instance the superposition of boundary layer solutions with a rarefaction wave is investigated. Some open problems are discussed in the last section.
