On thermal contact of two axially symmetric elastic solids (Q5959209)

The authors investigate a problem of two deformable, axially symmetric convex elastic solids in thermal contact. The mechanical and thermal material characteristics are constant and different for both solids. The temperatures at the points remote from the contact region are assumed to be \(T_i^0, i=1,2\), respectively. The main purpose is to establish mathematical conditions such the solution has the physical meaning, and to find the influence of the difference of temperatures between the contacting solids on the redistribution of contact tractions.
