The author develops a complex package for the approximation of the Cauchy-Riemann equations. A discrete Cauchy-Riemann relation that is valid for the standard and mixed finite element discretization of the unknown functions is obtained. A posteriori error estimating techniques from standard finite elements is automatically transfered to mixed elements. Using the proper estimators, the error in the gradient, in the curl and of the potentials can be estimated a posteriori, and a grid refinement can be applied.
