Spectral functions of canonical differential equations (Q5959503)

Here, the so-called canonical differential equations of degree \(n\) are investigated. A complete description of all spectral functions of such an equation is given together with a description of the corresponding orthogonal spectral functions. This is connected with the description of spectral functions of selfadjoint operators.
