Symmetric designs attached to four-weight spin models (Q5959835)

Extending previous work of \textit{T. Huang} and \textit{T. Guo} [Ann. Comb. 4, No. 3-4, 401-412 (2000; Zbl 0970.05045) and J. Stat. Plann. Inference 94, No. 2, 231-247 (2001; Zbl 0984.05078)] the authors prove that four-weight spin models for which the entries of the matrix \(W_2\) take exactly two distinct values are equivalent to symmetric designs for which all derived designs are quasisymmetric and which satisfy two additional conditions, among them a kind of duality requirement. They also discuss the existence question for such designs.
