The authors give a description of a class of space-times \(M\) (i.e. Lorentzian 4-manifolds) which admits proper conformal Ricci collineation that is a conformal non-homothetic vector field \(X\) which preserves the Ricci tensor \((c)\). More precisely, they assume that the vector field \(\text{grad div } X\) is timelike and it is linearly independent of \(X\) and that there exists an open \(t\)-interval of values of the function \( f = \text{div }X\) such that the \(t\)-level of \(f\) is a complete spacelike hypersurface. Under these assumptions they prove that \(X\) is a gradient vector field. Then, using previous results about structure of Lorentzian manifolds with gradient conformal vector fields, the authors get a description of \(M \) as some Lorentzian warped product.
