In this note properties of rings with univalent addition or UA-rings [see \textit{C. E. Rickart}, Bull. Am. Math. Soc. 54, 758-764 (1948; Zbl 0032.24904)] are discussed. A Lie ring \(R\) is called a ring with a unique addition if for any bijection \(\varphi:R\to R\) satisfying the condition \(\varphi([a,b])= [\varphi(a), \varphi(b)]\) \(\forall a,b\in R\) the condition \(\varphi(a+b)= \varphi(a)+ \varphi(b)\) \(\forall a,b\in R\) also holds. It is shown that nilpotent Lie algebras are not Lie rings with a unique addition. The main result of the paper is as follows: the Lie algebra \(sl_2(K)\) is the Lie UA-algebra for any field \(K\), \(\text{char} K\neq 2\).
