    Let \(E^{m+1}_{s}\) be an \(m+1\) dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space with signature \((s,m+1-s)\) and \(S^{m}_{s} = \{ x\in E^{m+1}_{s}:\langle x,x\rangle = 1\} \). Let \(M^{n}\) be a compact \(n\)-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian submanifold of \(S^{m}_{s}\). Let \(x: M^{n} @>\varphi>> S^{m}_{s} @>i>> E^{m+1}_{s}\) be the natural immersion, where \(\varphi \) is an isometric immersion and \(i\) an inclusion. \(M\) is said to be of \(k\)-type if the functions of the position vector \(x\) of \(M\) in \(E^{m+1}_{s}\) can be written in the form \[ x = x_{0}+ \sum ^{k}_{i=1} x_{u_{i}},\quad \Delta x_{u_{i}} = -\lambda _{u_{i}}x_{u_{i}} , \quad \lambda _{u_{1}} < \lambda _{u_{2}} < \cdots < \lambda _{u_{k}} . \] Between other inequalities concerning the eigenvalues and some integrals over \(M\) the following is proved: If \(i\circ \varphi \) is mass-symmetric and of order \(\{ k,k+1\} \) for some \(k\), such that \(\lambda _{k} \geq n\) or \(\lambda _{k+1} \leq n\), then \(\varphi \) is minimal and \(\lambda _{k} = n\) or \(\lambda _{k+1} = n\).
