      The authors study the second-order functional-differential equation \[ [a(t)x'(t)]'+p(t)x'(t)+q(t)f(x(t))=0,\qquad t\geq t_0,\tag{1} \] with \(a\in C^1([t_0,\infty),(0,\infty))\), \(p,q\in C([t_0,\infty),\mathbb{R})\), \(f\in C(\mathbb{R}, \mathbb{R})\), \(uf(u)>0\) for \(u\neq 0\) and \(f'(u)\geq \mu>0\). The authors complete the results from \textit{W. T. Li, M. Zhang} and \textit{X. Fe} [Indian J. Pure Appl. Math. 30, No. 10, 1017-1029 (1999; Zbl 0948.34022)] and present new oscillation criteria for (1). The forced equation is also considered. An example which illustrates new results is given.
