The complement of an arrangement of hyperplanes provides a good example of a mixed Hodge structure on the fundamental group of an algebraic variety. In this paper the author calculates the isomorphism class of such a complement by using iterated integrals and proves that the cross ratio of an arrangement is a combinatorial and projective invariant. This implies that cross ratio equivalent arrangements are isomorphic and that an isomorphism of polarized mixed Hodge structures on the fundamental group induces cross ratio equivalent arrangements.
