Let \(D\) be a bounded domain in \(\mathbb R^n\) with \(0\in D\). The boudary \(\partial D\) of \(D\) is said to be a pseudosphere if it is homeomorphic to a sphere (but it's not a sphere) and the \((n-1)\)-dimensional Hausdorff measure on \(\partial D\) equals to the harmonic measure on \(\partial D\) (relative to \(D\), evaluated at \(0\)). The authors in an earlier paper [Rev. Mat. Iberoam. 7, No. 1, 25-54 (1991; Zbl 0734.31006)] proved the existence of pseudospheres in \(\mathbb R^n\), \(n\geq 3\) and conjectured the existence of a pseudosphere which is also a quasisphere; that is, the homeomorphism in the definition of pseudosphere may be taken to be quasiconformal on \(\mathbb R^n\). This was known to be true for \(n=2\). In the paper under review the authors prove their conjecture. The construction involves long and technical potential theoretic arguments. It uses the ``Mickey mouse construction'' (attributed to Thurston) and an extension of a lemma of Wolff involving estimates for the gradient of the Green function of \(D\).
