The authors present some sufficient conditions for quadratic stabilizability via linear decentralized control (see e.g. [\textit{B. R. Barmish}, J. Optimization Theory Appl. 46, 399-408 (1985; Zbl 0564.93051)]) for large scale linear systems with structured uncertainties. The main assumption imposed on the structure of the uncertainties is expressed in terms of the so-called strongly antisymmetric stepwise configuration [\textit{K. Wei}, IEEE Trans. Autom. Control 35, No. 3, 268-277 (1990; Zbl 0707.93065)] which is an extension of the well-known matching condition (see e.g. [\textit{G. Leitmann}, J. Dyn. Syst. Meas. Control 101, 212-216 (1979; Zbl 0416.93077)]). For the interconnected systems quadratically stabilizable via linear decentralized control the authors propose a control design procedure which is based on the concept of strongly augmented system and the solution of a set of Lyapunov equations.
