The vibration and stability problem of rotating shafts arises when shafts are required to run smoothly at high speed. The torque and uniformly distributed centrifugal loading due to rotation are taken into account. In our dynamics study the rotating shaft can be treated as a homogeneous cross-ply antisymmetrically laminated circular cylindrical shell. Formulas determining the static and dynamic stability regions are written explicitly.
