A systematic model for the energy transfer process in a nonsaturated continuous mixture is proposed. Constitutive assumptions for both the partial heat fluxes (for the solid and the fluid-liquid-constituents) and the energy generation source (which accounts for the thermal interactions among the constituents) are derived, satisfying the second law of thermodynamics and presenting a minimum of complexity.
