Let \(f= u+iv\) be an entire function, \(M(r)\) and \(B(r)\) the maximum of \(|z|=r\) of \(|f|\) and \(u\), \(A(r)\) minimum of \(u\). It is known that \(M(r)\), \(B(r)\) and \(-A(r)\) are almost equal outside some exceptional set \(E\). Here, rather precise estimates of the differences between these quantities are given and the size of \(E\) in terms of logarithmic measure and upper and lower densities. The authors' ability to combine several complicated steps and obtain significant results is impressive.
