This paper investigates the use of partitioned linearly-implicit Runge-Kutta (RK) methods for differential algebraic equations of index 3. The classes of linearly-implicit RK methods considered are the ROW and W-methods, which can be interpreted as performing just one Newton iteration with a diagonally-implicit RK method. Convergence and consistency are studied and numerical results for a 4th order method are reported.
