Recall that the Lempert function of a domain \(D\) in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) between \(z\) and \(w\) measures the size of the biggest holomorphic disc passing through these points. The authors give a global upper bound of the Lempert function \(l_D\) in terms of the boundary distance when the domain is \(\mathcal{C}^{1+\varepsilon}\)-smooth bounded. More precisely, they prove that \(l_D(z,w)\leq 1-cd(z,\partial D)d(w,\partial D)\), where \(c>0\) is some uniform constant. This estimate is related to the sufficient condition obtained in [\textit{N. Nikolov, P. Pflug} and \textit{P. J. Thomas}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 137, 2027--2036 (2009; Zbl 1171.32007)] for the Lipschitzness of the Lempert function.
