The main subject of the paper under review is the study of the \(\mathbb{Z}\)-linear Gale duality and its applications to the geometry of toric varieties. Briefly, a \(\mathbb{Z}\)-linear Gale duality is a duality, well defined up to left multiplication by a unimodular integer matrix, between a fan matrix of a toric variety, defined by taking the primitive generators of all the fan's rays, and a weight matrix. This notion allows the authors to isolate the class of \(\mathbb{Q}\)-factorial complete toric varieties whose class group is torsion free. These toric varieties are called poly-weighted spaces.
