The authors focus on the quantum phase transition between a metallic and an insulating phase in interacting spin-chains or one-dimensional fermionic systems. The paper displays a detailed study of the behaviour of the system close to the metal insulator transition, using an expansion uniformly convergent in a domain of parameters which include the critical point. The study is expanded around the first regime and the second regime (in the metallic phase) of the renormalization group integration.
