In the paper the authors present a nice application of the category of finite dimensional modules over the algebra \[ \Lambda=\begin{bmatrix}KQ& KQ\\0&KQ\end{bmatrix}, \] where $KQ$ is the path algebra of a quiver $Q$ which has type $\mathbb{A}_n$ and arbitrary orientation (equivalently the category of finite dimensional representations of quivers which are commutative ladders). They interpret these modules as persistence modules that correspond to persistent topology assosiated with filtrations of topological spaces. In particular the authors: (1) generalize the concept of persistence diagrams to functions on the vertex set of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of the algebra $\Lambda$; (2) present an algorithm that using the structure of AR-quivers computes these generalized persistence diagrams in the case $n=3$; (3) show some examples; illustrate motivation from the topological data analysis on glasses. \par The main tool are AR-quivers. Therefore, in the paper AR-quivers of $\Lambda$ for $n\leq 4$ are presented (in this case $\Lambda$ has finite representation type) and it is noticed that for $n\geq 5$ the algebra $\Lambda$ has infinite representation type. Moreover an elementary algorithm that decomposes a $\Lambda$-module $V$ into direct sum of indecomposables is presented (in the case $\Lambda$ is reprresentation finite).
