The paper studies stability properties of solutions to a non-autonomous SIR epidemic model. A class of SIR systems with nonnegative almost periodic coefficients are considered. In particular, new sufficient conditions on the existence and multiplicity of positive almost periodic solutions for such systems are established. The proof of the existence of at least one almost periodic solution is based on Mawhin's continuation theorem. Then, utilizing second Lyapunov method, authors establish sufficient conditions for global asymptotic stability of the almost periodic solution. A theorem that provides sufficient conditions for the existence of at least two positive almost periodic solutions completes the theoretical part of the paper. All the results are formulated in terms of system's coefficients and theirs mean values. Finally, the authors provide two didactic examples to illustrate the obtained results.
