The author considers the \(n\)-dimensional delay differential equation \[ \frac{dx(t)}{dt}=A(t)x(t-\tau (t,x_{t})),\;t\geq 0, \] where \(A(t)\) is a continuous \(n\times n\)-matrix function defined on \([0,\infty )\). A sufficient condition for the uniform stability of the zero solution is derived. Furthermore, the author gives a sufficient condition for every solution to tend to zero as \(t\to \infty\), and the theorem of \textit{S. Grossman} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 40, 541--546 (1972; Zbl 0211.12302), Theorem 3] is extended.
