      Let \((x_n,y_n)\) be a solution to the system of two difference equations, as in the title of the paper. Here \(A_i,B_i,p_i\), \(q_i\) \((i=0,1, \dots, k)\) and \(x_i,y_i\) \((i=-k, -k+1,\dots,k+1)\) are positive. Under some assumptions the sequence \((x_n)\) is bounded and the sequence \((y_n)\) is persisting or vice versa. Some other behaviours such as stability and nonoscillation of solutions are discussed too.
