The main results of the paper under review belong to the study of symmetry properties of the equations that describe the dynamics of self-gravitating gas. In this connection, a complete group classification is provided and this is carefully compared with the earlier research of \textit{L. V. Ovsyannikov} [J. Appl. Math. Mech. 58, No. 4, 601--627 (1994; Zbl 0890.76070); translation from Prikl. Mat. Mekh. 58, No. 4, 30--55 (1994)].
