Let \(\psi\) be an multiresolution analysis wavelet and let \(\phi\) be an associated scaling function. The main result of the paper shows that, with some assumptions on regularity of \(\psi\) and \(\phi\), wavelet decompositions converge uniformly for functions \(f \in C^\alpha(R) \cap L^2(R)\), where \(C^\alpha(R)\) is the space of functions with Hölder regularity \(\alpha >0\). As an applicatioon of this result, a method for finding approximate solutions of Fredholm equations of the second type is provided.
