A cylindrical two-layer slab is illuminated by a non-periodical pulse heating. The layers are from different and anisotropic materials. There are specified conditions under which the problem can be solved analytically using separation of two cylindrical and time variables assuming axial symmetry. The solution of the transient temperature is expressed in the form of eigenfunction expansion. Certain material characteristics, such as finite thermal contact resistance between layers, cylindrical anisotropy of thermal diffusivity or conductivity, and finite absorption depth can be included into the theoretical model. The effect of finite heating time can be considered by the superposition method. The proposed method is illustrated on the example with the titan and cooper layers heated by instantaneous and/or extended pulse. The effect of thermal contact resistance on the solution is investigated.
