The author is interested in the following Yamabe type problem: Let \((M^n,g)\) be a compact Riemannian manifolds of dimension \(n \geq 3\) with boundary \(\partial M\). Is there a scalar-flat metric on \(M\) that is conformal to \(g\) and has \(\partial M\) as a constant mean curvature hypersurface? For several cases, \textit{J. F. Escobar} gave an affirmative answer in [Ann. Math. (2) 136, No.~1, 1--50 (1992; Zbl 0766.53033)] by proving that the conformally invariant Sobolev quotient \(Q(M,\partial M)\) satisfies a certain inequality. With a similar strategy, \textit{F. C. Marques} settled some remaining cases in [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 54, No.~6, 1599--1620 (2005; Zbl 1090.53043)] and [Commun. Anal. Geom. 15, No.~2, 381--405 (2007; Zbl 1132.53021)]. In the present paper, the author solves affirmatively one of the remaining open cases, namely when \(n \in \{6,7,8\}\), \(\partial M\) is umbilic, and the Weyl tensor of \(M\) is nonzero at some boundary point.
