The author considers a class of infinite-dimensional Lie groups \(G\) with Lie algebras \(\mathfrak g\) endowed with a left (or right) invariant metric for which the operators that are the sum of the adjoint and coadjoint action operators have finite norms. This class of infinite-dimensional Lie groups is connected with equations of mathematical physics such as the Euler equations of an ideal fluid. It is established that the solution of the Euler equations of geodesics remains in the \(L^2 \)-completion of \(\mathfrak g\). In these terms properties of solutions are established which are provided by local existence and uniqueness theorems at a limit point.
