The paper studies the Sturm-Liouville operator given by the differential expression \[ \ell=-\frac{d^2}{dx^2}+\sum_{k=1}^\infty\alpha_k\delta(x-x_k),\quad x\geq 0, \] where \(\delta(.)\) is the Dirac delta-function. It is assumed that the interaction centers accumulate only at infinity, \(0<x_1<x_2<\dots\), \ \(x_k\to+\infty\), and all \(\alpha_k\in\mathbb{R}\). Using the technique developed in [\textit{R.\,S.\thinspace Ismagilov}, Dokl.\ Akad.\ Nauk SSSR 140, 33--36 (1961; Zbl 0286.34031); Mat.\ Zametki 34, No.\,4, 535--547 (1983; Zbl 0544.34017); Mat.\ Zametki 37, No.\,6, 869--879 (1985; Zbl 0597.34017)] for Sturm-Liouville operators with continuous strongly oscillating potentials, the authors investigate spectral properties of operators with \(\delta\)-interactions. Firstly, the authors obtain asymptotic estimates of the spectrum for a special class of operators with \(\delta\)-interactions having purely discrete spectra. Note that this class was found in [\textit{A.\,Kostenko} and \textit{M.\,Malamud}, J.~Differ.\ Equations 249, No.\,2, 253--304 (2010; Zbl 1195.47031)]. Secondly, under some assumptions on the sequences \(X=\{x_k\}\) and \(\alpha=\{\alpha_k\}\), the authors prove that \(0\) is the only accumulation point of eigenvalues of the corresponding Sturm-Liouville operators.
