\textit{N. Koceić Bilan} and \textit{N. Uglešić} have recently introduced a new classification of topological spaces, strictly coarser than the shape type classification [Glas. Mat., III. Ser. 42, No.~1, 145--187 (2007; Zbl 1131.55005)]. The corresponding coarse shape theory is founded on the coarse shape category Sh*. This category is constructed over all topological spaces such that its isomorphisms define a classification of topological spaces strictly coarser than the shape type classification. Since the shape category Sh is a subcategory of Sh*, the coarse shape generalizes shape theory. In the present paper several topological and shape invariants are studied with respect to coarse shape. It is shown that coarse shape domination preserves connectedness, shape dimension, movability, \(n\)-movability and strong movability. Further, a coarse shape isomorphism preserves stability, and coarse shape and shape coincide on the class of stable spaces (the coarse shape type classification has full significance only outside of the class of stable spaces).
